Voltaren is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and reduce inflammation in conditions like arthritis. It works by reducing the production of hormones that cause pain and inflammation.
Voltaren is a non-medically active substance that has been used for over 25 years to treat pain and inflammation. Its active ingredient, diclofenac diethylamine, belongs to a class of medications called non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs).
Voltaren is most commonly used to treat pain in adults and adolescents 16 years and older. The drug works by blocking the production of certain hormones that cause pain.
It may also be used in adults and in children aged 12 years and older. However, the exact mechanism of action is unknown.

DescriptionVoltaren gel is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used to relieve pain and reduce inflammation. It is a powerful pain reliever and fever reducer. Voltaren gel is a prescription-only treatment, meaning it requires a doctor's prescription before you can buy it from our pharmacy.
Voltaren gel comes as a tablet and a capsule. The tablet contains diclofenac sodium (150mg), which is the same drug found in the prescription strength form of Voltaren, but under the brand name Diclofenac Sodium.
Voltaren gel can be taken with or without food. You should take it at least one hour before or two hours after a heavy meal. Do not crush or chew the tablet.
If you miss a dose of Voltaren gel, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
